1. Is this service for me?
Items are lost every day. Reasons range from forgetfulness to oversight, but whatever the reason,
losing your items can be a difficult experience.
Many items are lost for good due to the lack of clear identification. We endeavour to
recover lost items to the owners, 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
About 15 to 20,000 communication devices including PDAs, mobiles and work-related devices like laptops and thumb drives are lost every year in London, but failed to be returned back to the owners due to lack of clear identification.
2. My laptop is the latest model! Will someone bother to return it to me?
Which is worse? To lose an item with no identification or one with some form of ID?
There are many items that are returned to the police, or to the lost and found departments of various organisations; but many are not returned to their owner due to the lack of identification.
3. Which items might benefit from BoomerBack ID labels?
PDAs, smartphones, laptops, cameras, thumb drives, wallets and any items that are small and portable.
And don't forget the luggage as well.
4. What happens when I lose something?
Notify BoomerBack via the website, or call free to: 0800 043 23 02. This isn't essential but
it does give you the opportunity to update your contact details, and any additional
reward you are offering.
5. How does BoomerBack know what items are mine?
When you activate the BoomerBack label on our website, you register your contact details
against the ID - the unique number on each BoomerBack label.
6. Why don't I just write my name on my valuable items?
Why compromise your personal information when you have no idea into whose hands they will fall?
The BoomerBack labels protect your privacy.
7. What does it cost to get my lost items back?
Once BoomerBack labels are purchased and activated, our ongoing protection is completely free.
8. How does BoomerBack protect my privacy?
All recoveries are completed through our system, which enables both the finder and the owner to
remain anonymous (unless both agree to be known to the other in the interests of any easy return).
9. How does BoomerBack help deter theft?
Having a BoomerBack ID label on your personal item helps deter theft by letting criminals know
that your item is registered and traceable.
Statistics prove that items without any form of personal identification are more likely to be stolen than those with some form of identification.
10. How is the finder of a lost item rewarded?
Finders will be rewarded with a BoomerBack gift pack worth £40
as well as a letter of appreciation on behalf of the owner, when confirmation is received that
the lost item is safely returned to its owner.
On top of this, the finder may receive an extra reward from the owner, since owners can
set their own cash reward for finders when labels are activated.
This reward is optional. BoomerBack can pass this reward to the finder
on behalf of the owner to preserve anonymity if needed.
11. What are finders expected to do with the item?
Finders just have to report the find at the website www.BoomerBack.co.uk, or call our
freephone number on the labels. BoomerBack takes care of the recovery from there.
Arrangements will either be coordinated between the owner and the finder to pick up the item,
or BoomerBack will arrange a courier to deliver the item back to its owner.
12. How do I change my personal information?
Enter your username and password to login and you will be taken to the "Control Panel" page.
Click "My account" to change your information.
13. What happens if I sell off my item together with the label?
You can transfer the ownership by simply logging in and updating the relevant information. The new
owner can also take over the login.
14. How big are your labels?
Each label is long and narrow: 40mm x 7mm, and will fit on the side of a phone, for example.
